Gordon Berard, P. Eng., PhD
Gordon has 30 years of experience in the oil & gas natural resource
sector in Canada, Mexico and the United States, including strategic planning,
business creation and development, and project direction.
For twelve years, Gordon has developed and implemented natural gas projects
in Mexico on behalf of North American firms, including Nova Gas International,
Paramount Resources and Enbridge International. Gordon was the former
Vice President, Business Development, Mexico, for NOVA Gas International
Ltd. As Director, International, of a Canadian-owned international business
consulting and project development firm, Gordon provided clients representation
and advocacy before senior levels of the Mexican state-owned energy apparatus,
including Pemex, the Energy Secretariat, the Federal Energy Regulatory
Commission, and state authorities. Gord was also the founder and principal
of the project development firm, PYPER International Inc.
Gordon also supports financial lending institutions in evaluating business
proposals and providing ongoing monitoring services and high-level representation
across all business sectors in Mexico. He has expertise in analyzing and
preparing public bids in Mexico, developing market entry strategies, performing
operational due diligence, and developing projects involving multiple
stakeholders. Combining technical engineering expertise with an acute
knowledge of doing business in Mexico, Gordon provides both the relationships
and know-how necessary for success in Mexico.
